LIP REDUCTION

POST – TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

day by day care

Days 1–2

Cold compress 15–20 mins every other hour

Day 3

Warm compress 20 mins, 2x per day

General Care

Sleep with head elevated
Drink cold water for 2–3 days
Eat soft foods that do not require a lot of chewing
Rinse mouth after every meal
Take medications as directed
Moisturize lips with petroleum jelly or antibacterial ointment

What to avoid

Avoid touching or putting pressure on the lips
Avoid opening mouth too widely to keep sutures intact
Avoid hot food/liquids for 2–3 days
Avoid seafood, chicken, egg and foods causing allergy
No aspirin or aspirin-containing pain medications
No Vitamin E or herbal supplements for 1 week
No smoking for 2 weeks — no alcohol for 1 week
No kissing for 1 week — no makeup for 1 week
Avoid scratching the affected area
No swimming for 2 weeks — avoid extreme sun exposure for 2 weeks
Avoid extreme physical activity, sports, and sexual intercourse for at least 2 weeks

What to Expect

Bruising around the area — normal and temporary
Swelling — will gradually subside over time

💤 Rest: Complete rest is advised for faster recovery. Listen to your body and avoid overexertion.
