Daily Care

Wipe nose with cotton or tissue — do not pick or rub
Clean suture sites with cotton buds soaked in hydrogen peroxide 3x a day
Use mild soap to wash face 24 hours after surgery
Apply ice cold compress 30 mins, 3x a day for 3 days after operation
Sit upright during daytime — lay flat at night
Walk during daytime — you are encouraged to stay active
Brush teeth gently with soft toothbrush only
Take medications as prescribed by your doctor

What to avoid

No exercise or physical activities for 1 month
Avoid excessive nose blowing for at least 1 week
Avoid upper lip movement (e.g. kissing)
No smoking or alcohol for 1 month
No spicy food or food rich in iodine (squid, shrimp, crab, oyster, seafood) for 1 month
No Vitamin E and Aspirin for 1 month

POST – TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS

First 2 Weeks

Wear chinstrap or headband dressings all day — keeps ears in position

3–6 Weeks

Wear a clean headband at night only

6–8 Weeks

Wear headband during sleeping and sports activities

7 Days

Sutures removed after operation

General Instruction

Apply covered ice bags on ears 15–30 mins every 2 hours for first 72 hours to reduce swelling
Wear headband over ears for 6–8 weeks when sleeping or during sports activities
Do not remove head dressing unless changing dressing or taking a bath

Insicion Care

You may shower after dressing has been changed within 24 hours after surgery
Keep incisions clean using hydrogen peroxide — inspect daily for signs of infection
Avoid exposing scars to sun for at least 12 months — use SPF 50+ sunblock if unavoidable
You may shampoo hair after dressing is removed the day after surgery — use baby shampoo only
Do not blow dry hair or use styling products for 1 week

General Care

Sleep with head elevated
Drink cold water for 2–3 days
Eat soft foods that do not require a lot of chewing
Rinse mouth after every meal
Take medications as directed
Moisturize lips with petroleum jelly or antibacterial ointment

What to avoid

Avoid touching or putting pressure on the lips
Avoid opening mouth too widely to keep sutures intact
Avoid hot food/liquids for 2–3 days
Avoid seafood, chicken, egg and foods causing allergy
No aspirin or aspirin-containing pain medications
No Vitamin E or herbal supplements for 1 week
No smoking for 2 weeks — no alcohol for 1 week
No kissing for 1 week — no makeup for 1 week
Avoid scratching the affected area
No swimming for 2 weeks — avoid extreme sun exposure for 2 weeks
Avoid extreme physical activity, sports, and sexual intercourse for at least 2 weeks

What to Expect

Bruising around the area — normal and temporary
Swelling — will gradually subside over time

💤 Rest: Complete rest is advised for faster recovery. Listen to your body and avoid overexertion.

FACELIFT

POST – TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
 

what to do

Cold compress on the area until sutures are removed.
Compression dressing may be removed after 14 days.
Face — Massage gently with mild cleansing soap thinly all over the face avoiding post sutured areas, then wipe off with a soft wet towel.
Apply mild toner and moisturizing cream after cleansing.
Body — Use mild soap as bath soap.

What to Expect

Minimal bleeding from incision site which will eventually resolve after 8 days.
Loss of sensation on the pre-auricular and post-auricular areas will eventually resolve after 8 weeks.
Weakening of the muscles for facial expression is normal and will eventually resolve until the inflammation subsides.
Sutures will be removed after 14 days or as instructed by the physician.

What to Avoid

No washing of the incision site for 1 week.
No smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages for 1 month post surgery.
No strenuous activities and lifting heavy weights for 1 month post surgery.
No spicy food and food rich in iodine (squid, shrimp, crab, oyster and other seafood) during the treatment period.
No exposure to direct sunlight for 1 month to prevent hyperpigmentation. Apply sunscreen 30 minutes prior to sun exposure.

Keep the incision clean and dry.

General Care

Avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting for a few weeks to promote healing.
Rest your voice, especially in the first few days, to allow the throat to heal.
Listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself too hard.
Start with a soft or liquid diet until you can comfortably swallow.
Gradually resume a normal diet as tolerated.

Clean surgical site daily and after bowel movement with Betadine feminine wash and water, then pat dry without rubbing.
A blow dryer on low heat may be used to dry the area.
Apply mupirocin ointment after drying.

What to Avoid

No exercise, heavy lifting, or squatting for 6 weeks.
May climb stairs — slowly, one at a time, and limit trips.
Nothing in the vagina for 6 weeks. No use of tampons or sexual activity.
Keep legs closed or crossed at most times.
No waxing or shaving until cleared by doctor.
